2024 Chinese New Year Mini Erhu Concert

ピアニストの竹本紗楽さん
A special event for Honda Yutori Supporters' Association members, the "Chinese New Year Mini Erhu Concert," was held in the hall of the kindergarten that Honda Yutori and pianist Takemoto-san graduated from. It was a huge success, with more guests than expected, including teachers and members of the religious order from that time. Concerts in large halls are important, but we also want to cherish concerts where we can talk to everyone directly and see their faces.
We look forward to your membership in the Honda Yutori Support Group.
“Great Voice” ~ A 130th Anniversary of the Birth of Abyeong at Home and Abroad, Gugak Festival~

On December 17th, I participated as a foreign performer in the concert celebrating the 130th anniversary of the birth of Wuxi-born A Bing, the composer of "Er Spring Reflecting the Moon," entitled "A Great Sound: A National Music Festival Commemorating the 130th Anniversary of A Bing's Birth, Commemorating the Domestic and International Performances of the Chinese Artists." The concert featured a collaboration with famous players of China's representative instruments, the erhu, pipa, and guzheng, as well as a folk instrument orchestra, and was live-streamed.

Honda Yutori 20th Birthday Celebration Erhu Concert
Since discovering the beautiful sound of the erhu and the joy of playing it, Honda Yutori has been steadily progressing towards her dream of becoming an erhu player .
To celebrate turning 20, I held the " Yutori Honda 20th Birthday Erhu Concert " . I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the many people who came from far away to attend. I will use the applause and support I received as motivation to continue studying in Beijing. Please look forward to next year's concert.

Honda Yutori 20th Birthday Celebration Midsummer Chinese Tea and Erhu Party August 8th JMT CAFE DAIKANYAMA
A Chinese tea and erhu event was held at Daikanyama JMT CAFE, hosted by Chinese tea (black tea) expert Natsuko Inoue!
Mr. Inoue has been fond of Yutori since she was in elementary school, and she has performed at Chinese tea events in the past. This time, to celebrate Yutori Honda turning 20, we decided to hold an event where we would drink a variety of rare (high-quality) black teas! The event was packed with deliciousness and fun, with Chinese tea tasting (before, during, and after meals) + a meal at JMTcafe + Yutori Honda's erhu concert.
Many people attended both the daytime and evening sessions. The JMT Cafe had a great atmosphere and was a very nice space. The guests listened attentively, and we are truly grateful for the connection we made through Chinese tea.

Delicious Chinese tea and the sound of the erhu are the perfect match!

He made a special NikoNeko latte for me.

I performed at a folk instrument orchestra concert.

夢に向かって、3年ぶりに北京へ
Since returning to Japan for the Chinese New Year holidays in 2020, I have been taking online classes in Japan due to the effects of COVID-19, but I will finally be able to go to Beijing for the first time in three years. I am looking forward to my new life, including university classes and face-to-face lessons, and dormitory life. Above all, I want to approach this with a sense of mission to learn the latest erhu, so please continue to support me! 2023.2

I was fortunate enough to appear on my first nationally broadcast variety show. I was happy that I could listen to my performance on the cruise ship. On the day of the shoot, I didn't know if the guests would come or not until just before the ship departed (Cream Nantarara is a show that is produced very seriously!), so I practiced a SixTONES song♪
[Honda Yutori Lunch Concert] held
Due to the relaxation of visa restrictions for international students, I am now able to go to Beijing for the first time in two years and ten months, so I held the Honda Yutori Lunch Concert, mainly with the members of the Honda Yutori Supporters' Association. Your expectations and support have given me even more motivation to do my best. I would like to thank everyone for their support. When I return to Japan temporarily, I would like to create an opportunity for you to listen to my performance again, so I look forward to your joining the supporters' association.

Commemorative events for the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China
Japan-China Exchange Festival 2022
September 24-25: Yoyogi Park, Tokyo
Although the first day was affected by the typhoon, the 25th, when Honda Yutori performed, was a clear autumn day with not a single cloud in the sky. The two days were packed with events, including stage performances that deepened ties between Japan and China, and gourmet booths where you could enjoy authentic flavors. I was glad that so many people came to listen to our performance. Thank you for coming and supporting us!

8/23 Honda Yutori Erhu Concert
2020

Many people are exhausted both physically and mentally in the fight against the virus with no end in sight, so I thought about "what I can do" and held a concert. This time, I performed with Yokohama-based pianist Makomi Watanabe, with the theme of "A moment of healing," and selected songs mainly from film music, as well as songs I learned in China. Holding a concert during the COVID-19 pandemic was even more stressful than usual, but I was moved by the number of visitors who came, more than I expected, and the many comments I received, such as "It was good to hear a live performance," "The sound of the erhu cleansed my soul," and "The heartfelt performance brought me to tears." I am also extremely grateful for the cooperation of the visitors in taking measures against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many people were worried about COVID-19 and refrained from attending this time, or were unable to invite their friends, so we hope that the pandemic will end as soon as possible. We believe that one day we will be able to enjoy live music freely again, and we will continue to work hard to provide you with even higher quality performances. We appreciate your continued support.

Don't let Corona defeat you! Let's all do our best!
Everyone, how are you all doing?
We understand that the spread of the COVID-19 virus has forced you to live an inconvenient life. I don't think anyone expected that we would encounter an unknown virus that has spread globally and for which there is still no cure. We would like to express our gratitude to all the medical professionals currently working to treat COVID-19 cases, and we can only do our best to prevent the spread of infection by avoiding the "three Cs." Let's do our best together while staying at home!
Thank you for worrying about whether I was in Beijing.
I have been at home ever since I returned from Beijing for the Chinese New Year holidays in early January this year. I feel really lucky that I was able to return to China before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently, my school in Beijing has been teaching online since March, so I am taking classes and practicing my erhu every day (I also have erhu lessons one-on-one with my teacher on my smartphone).
I go out once or twice a week, just to walk around the neighborhood, but I have erhu practice every day, so I don't feel stressed about not being able to go out. Eating has become my greatest pleasure (all Japanese food is delicious, especially sushi♪).
Although the current COVID-19 pandemic is an unexpected event, I have been able to study and play various songs more leisurely than ever before because I have been at home all the time. I am practicing in the hope of holding fan meetings and mini concerts at a safe time after COVID-19 has subsided, and having everyone listen to my performances. I also occasionally post videos, so please listen to them. (I am also accepting requests.)
We look forward to seeing you again, so please take care of yourself until then.

≪Earthly Heart Jump I≫ Chen Yusheng Chamber Music Concert

In the summer of 2019, he was selected as a member of the Echo Contemporary Ensemble, which was formed by students from the Central Conservatory of Music, and participated in the Dunhuang Cup 2019 All Japan Erhu Competition, where he won first place in the gold medal in the overseas ensemble category.
The group's leader, Chen Yusheng, held a concert at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing on November 16th, and Yutori also participated!
He was inspired by the high level of performance technique of the current music students at the Central Conservatory of Music, the most prestigious music school in China. He is working hard, cherishing the various experiences he can only have now while attending the affiliated high school.

Bronze Award in the Professional Group A
In September 2019, I participated in the Raoyang (International) Folk Music Competition, held as a member of the Central Conservatory of Music's junior high school. In Chinese competitions, students from music universities and elementary, junior high, and high schools attached to music universities are considered "professionals" and are in a separate category from general participants. Until now, Yutori had participated as an "amateur" (non-professional), but after entering the university, he became a full-timer. The professional category is made up of students who specialize in learning the erhu, so the level is very high.
Yutori will continue to work hard and absorb many things from now on. I will do my best to win the gold medal in the full-time group!

On the evening of October 2nd, a grand awards ceremony and concert was held , and Yutori also performed as one of the award winners.
In the morning, there was an event where the young erhu player Ma Xianghua was the guest (!) and they attempted to break the Guinness World Record of having 2019 people play the erhu! It was a great success! (It seems that the number of people has increased by 5 and is now officially 2024)
*Yutori is also in the Guinness Book of Records!

"2019 Chinese ware 乐电视大赛"
Yutori participated in the amateur division (non-professional group) of a very famous and large-scale competition in China hosted by China Radio and Television (CCTV) . He advanced to the finals and won the third prize ! More than 5,000 people participated in this competition, and the competition progressed through the first round, re-run, final round, and final round. In the final round and final round, points were awarded not only for playing instruments, but also for talent shows and music-related quizzes. A large-scale stage that is not found in Japan, more than 50 judges, and television recording were all new experiences! It was the first time that it was broadcast nationwide in China before it was on Japanese TV! The re-run, final round, and final round can be viewed on the CCTV Music website. *Uploaded to YouTube.
